6.5" IN HEIGHT ~ SCARCE MONUMENT DEDICATION BADGE DEDICATED TO THOSE THAT SERVED WITH THE ORANGE BLOSSOMS

The monument was erected by Col. Thomas W. Bradley, who served with the regiment. Bradley was an English-born immigrant who came to the United States as a child. Bradley was a shop boy at his parents’ knife shop in the Hudson Valley. During the Civil War he enlisted and was wounded three times. He was later awarded the Medal of Honor in 1896 for his heroism at the Battle of Chancellorsville. Bradley was promoted to colonel after the war as part of the New York State Militia. In the late 19th Century, he entered politics and he served ten years in Congress from March 4, 1903, to March 4, 1913.
