Engineer on Survey of the Northern Lakes, Sep., 1867, to Aug. 6, 1869 (leave of absence, Dec., 1867, to Mar. 1, 1868, and Nov., 1868, to Jan., 1869).Resigned, Sep. 1, 1869.Civil History. — Lumber Manufacturer, Detroit, Mich.,2 1869‑72. Cotton Exporter, New York city, 1875‑77. Civil Engineer since 1877. Railroad Commissioner of the State of New York, since Jan. 10, 1883.Vol. IV
Civil History. — Admitted to the bar of New York, Feb. 8, 1892, since then engaged in the practice of law. — Author of a large number of the reports and decisions of the Board of Railroad Commissioners, and joint author of the report of that board in 1891, on "Bridge Strains," being a computation of the strains brought to bear upon every member of every train railroad bridge in the State of New York. — Residence, New York City and Garrison, Putnam Co., N. Y.
