The 94th Virginia Militia March 18 through May 9, 1862 in Company A, Representative from Virginia in the Confederate Congress, 1862-64,mayor of Petersburg, Va., 1866-68, 1888. Took his own life, June 29, 1899.
to 1864. Collier attended the University of Virginia and studied law at Harvard from 1847 to 1848.
Charles Fenton Collier was a lawyer by profession and a member of the Confederate Congress and served several terms in the Legislature. He had been elected Mayor of Petersburg, Virginia six times. He had also was the President of the Southern Railroad Company.
