Frame measures 8.5 x 20.5 - CO.F 7TH INDIANA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY - DESCRIPTION ABOVE THE PHOTO STATES THAT THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN ON SEPT. 19, 1863, WHEN CAMPED NEAR PONY MOUNTAIN, IN CULPEPPER COUNTY , VA.,AND SENT TO BRADY OF NEW YORK, FOR PRINTING. CAPT. JEFFERY HAD THE PICTURE ENLARGED AND PRESENTED TO MEMBERS OF THE COMPANY AT THE REUNION HELD SEPT. 13, 1912, WITH COMRADE J.M. BROWN, AT FRANKLIN, IND. -(BOTH MEN PICTURED IN PHOTO AT LEFT) - CO. F WAS DUBBED THE " SINGING AND PRAYING" COMPANY OF THE REGIMENT. ALL BATTLES LISTED INCLUDING GETTYSBURG - AFTER MUSTERING OUT IN 1864 MEMBERS OF THE 7TH THAT REJOINED WERE TRANSFERRED TO THE 19TH INDIANA, IRON BRIGADE.
